The Holdout: Update Presentation and Discussion

Join the Holdout–an antiauthoritarian, anticapitalist community space in development in Oakland–for a presentation about the project, its current status, and our vision for moving forward. Following, we’ll answer questions and discuss the project in the context of antiauthoritarian spaces in general.

Our mission is to create a public space for organizing, gathering, education, entertainment, and mutual aid within the community, working toward social justice, equality, and a better world. We actively work to maintain a nonhierarchical and antiauthoritarian space free of prejudice and discrimination (on the basis of their age, race, sex, ability, gender orientation, sexual preference, socioeconomic background, or any other defining characteristic). We hope to develop alternative infrastructure and models to the current state system by providing a physical space to share skills, accrue resources, and make personal connections.
